Yesterday was Throw
Back Thursday (TBT), a day
Instagram users dedicate to
showing us old photos of
themselves.
Kenya’s biggest mobile service
provider Safaricom took this
opportunity to remind us that it
has not always been rosy.
This undated advert shows a time
when Safaricom had not reached
100,000 subscribers. The person
who would be the lucky 100,000th
subscribers was gratefully rewarded
with 5 mobile phones and
Sh100,000 airtime.
Even by today’s standards, that’s a
big reward.
