IEBC official shot dead in Nanyuki town

An Independent Electoral and
Boundaries Commission (IEBC)
Coordinator was this morning
killed by thugs in Nanyuki town.
Robinson Wachira who was the
Banisa constituency coordinator in
Wajir County was killed at 4 am at
his gate in Likii village in the
outskirts of Nanyuki town.
According to Laikipia East Sub-
County police Commander Kegode
Kidiavai, the deceased was waiting
for a vehicle to pick him when a
gang of four pounced on him.
“He was to travel to Nairobi when
the gang descended on him and
shot him three times on the chest. A
matatu crew witnessed the incident
and reported it to the police” Said
Kidiavai.
He said the IEBC official was
pronounced dead at Nanyuki
teaching and referral. The thugs
stole a bag containing his personal
belongings, two mobile phones, a
laptop and unknown amount of
money.
