2 MASSIVE EXPLOSIONS HIT THIKA RD SUPERHIGHWAY, NEAR HOMELAND, BLUE SPRINGS HOTEL : 3 Dead, over 60 injured and hospitalized. (Al-shabaab)

Twin
explosions have occurred on
Nairobi’s busy Thika Highway
killing two people and injuring
over 50.
The blasts occurred separately in
two buses; one headed to Githurai
45 while the other to Mwiki both
in Kasarani.
The first blast occurred near Blue
Springs/ Homeland Hotels while
the second one occurred at
Roysambu roundabout near Thika
Road Mall (TRM).
Casualties of the two explosions
were rushed to Neema Hospital,
Guru Nanak and Kenyatta
National Hospital, where 9 of
them are reported to be in
critical condition.
At Kenyatta Hospital, 20 victims
are admitted among them 9
female, 6 male and 5 children
below the age of 10, but majority
have soft tissue injuries and limb
fractures.
The police at the scene have
secured the area and have closed
the section between Jambo Grill
and TRM roundabout.
This comes barely a day after
another twin blasts occurred in
Mombasa on Saturday at a hotel
in Nyali and inside Chania Bus,
where 8 people have so far been
confirmed dead.
This could yet be another Al-
Shabaab terror attack but they
are yet to claim responsibility.
This comes even as President
Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy,
William Ruto, have indicated they
will not back down on its
crackdown on terror.

More to follow….
